St. James Parish & Urban League of Louisiana Proud

On Saturday, August 6, 2022, Sharon Lavigne of RISE St. James was honored at the Urban League of Louisiana's Annual Gala: Impacting Change For Good. The gala took place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

Funds raised at the gala go towards the mission-filled work of the Urban League of Louisiana which includes Education and Youth Development, Workforce and Economic Development, and Policy and Social Justice.

"Thank You to the Urban League of Louisiana for the honor. I am happy and inspired to be among this group of trailblazers. We consider this another opportunity to rise above the status quo in our community," Sharon Lavigne.

In addition to RISE St. James, other honorees included Gail Etienne, Tessie Prevost, Leona Tate; Eugene Collins, Baton Rouge NAACP; and Ashley Shelton, The Power Coalition. Entertainment was provided by Gina Brown & Anutha Level and the Royal Essence Band.
